Security and Identification
Due to the high profile, international scope of the 2009 World Conference on Sport and the Environment (WCSE), security badges will consist of photo identification. All conference attendees will be required to show government-issued identification at time of registration in order to receive their official 2009 WCSE badge and delegate materials.
Only one photo ID badge will be issued per delegate. Badges will not be re-issued if lost or stolen.
All access points to buildings and conference/exposition facilities will be strictly monitored; therefore, all delegates are required to visibly display official event badges and carry appropriate identification.
General Conditions and Policies
It is agreed that GLOBE Events, its employees, officers, volunteers, contracted staff, contracted companies and agents shall not be held liable or responsible for any loss, injury, or damages, however caused, to any person or the property of any person engaged by, participating in or attending the 2009 WCSE, unless due solely to the gross negligence or willful misconduct of GLOBE Events, its employees, volunteers, contracted staff, in program dates, content, speakers, or location or cancellation of any programs or functions. It is agreed that GLOBE Events, its employees, agents and officers, reserve the right to refuse admission, cancel or reschedule programs, change speakers, locations or revise content.
Substitution Policy
For security purposes substitutions for invited delegates will be subject to approval by the inviting agencies, namely the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC), and the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Substitutions on-site will be at the sole discretion of the inviting agencies. GLOBE Events cannot guarantee admission.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
Registration fees will be refunded, less a $95.00 administration charge, if a refund request is received in writing at the address given below before February 13, 2009. No refunds for registration fees will be issued for requests received after February 13, 2009.
Children On-Site Policy
Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Pets On-Site Policy
The WCSE 2009 will take place in the Vancouver Convention and Exhibition Centre wherein animals are not permitted for reasons of security and sanitation. Certified animal assistants are allowed.
