Greening Initiative
The 2009 World Conference on Sport and the Environment (WCSE) will draw 500 people to the Vancouver Convention and Exhibition Centre and will have impacts on the Vancouver region's social and economic development, as well as on the local environment through increased demand for resources such as water and energy as well as the generation of waste and pollution.
In order to reduce the ecological footprint of the event and to contribute to positive social and economic development in the Vancouver region, the 2009 WCSE will be organized in accordance with a sustainable meeting strategy, which we have coined the 2009 WCSE Greening Initiative.
